Property industry’s top performers nab 112 awards

Sime Darby Property, IJM Land and OSK Property are the biggest winners
The Malaysian property landscape reached a new pinnacle on May 7 as the 11th StarProperty Real Estate Developer Awards 2026 celebrated a staggering 112 recipients from 44 property developers. The gala, held at the Sunway Resort, served as a definitive showcase of the industry’s resilience, honouring the heavyweights who continue to anchor the nation’s economy despite global geopolitical shifts and economic uncertainties.
Organised by StarProperty, a subsidiary of Star Media Group (SMG), this year’s Awards marked a significant expansion in scope. With 35 categories and two high-profile Special Recognition Awards, the event underscored a maturing market that helped facilitated RM241.87bil in transactions over the past year.
Three major listed developers emerged as the night’s most dominant forces, sweeping the All-Stars rankings, amongst other categories.
Taking the Number 1 spot in the All-Stars Top 10 for listed companies, Sime Darby Property Bhd proved its versatility across the board. From winning Excellence in industrial development for Hamilton Industrial Park to transit-oriented high-rise (SJCC East One), the group’s footprint was unmatched. They further solidified their popularity by clinching Newsmaker of the Year and Most Heart-Warming CSR Initiatives in the Readers’ Choice category.
Securing the second spot in the All-Star ranking, IJM Land demonstrated incredible geographic and disciplinary range. The developer took home Excellence awards for projects as varied as the Pantai Sentral Park mixed development in Kuala Lumpur and the Merione project in the Northern Star category. Their ability to deliver high-quality landed and high-rise projects across Malaysia’s primary corridors cemented their status as a silver-award titan.
Rounding out the top three, OSK Property proved to be the night’s most well-rounded competitor, ranking third in the All-Stars list. Beyond their technical wins for OSK Areca and Iringan Bayu, they swept the Readers’ Choice Awards, winning Excellence for Newsmaker of the Year, Most Heart-Warming CSR and the highly coveted Most Preferred Developer title.
For the All-Stars non-listed companies segment, TSLAW Land took the crown, followed by Seri Pajam Development and KLK Land in second and third, respectively (See pages 6 to 10 for the full list of winners and the categories).
A new frontier: Urban renewal
A key highlight of the 11th edition was the introduction of three new sub-categories focused on Urban Renewal. According to SMG group chief executive officer Chan Seng Fatt, the revitalisation of existing spaces is now an essential part of sustainable urban development.
The inaugural winners in this space—The Campus Ampang (Community Hub), edumetro @ Subang Jaya (Mixed Development) and The Atrium (Residential)—were lauded for their creativity in reimagining old structures. These projects signify a shift in the industry toward preserving urban character while meeting the evolving needs of modern communities.
The evening culminated in the presentation of two prestigious Special Recognition Awards:
- Real Estate Icon of the Year: Awarded to Eco World Development Group Bhd executive chairman Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin in celebration of a lifetime of transformative leadership that has redefined the standards of Malaysian homebuilding. This prestigious accolade recognises a leader who transcends traditional business success by championing industry-wide advancements in technology, sustainability and social equity, serving as a definitive benchmark for future generations and leaving an indelible legacy on the nation’s built environment.
- Iconic Development of the Year: Bestowed upon Merdeka 118 by PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd, acknowledging the skyscraper as a global landmark and a triumph of modern engineering. The winning project, as the current world’s second-tallest and Southeast Asia’s tallest building, captures the public imagination and establishes a definitive reference point for the future of the nation’s built environment.
