Asia’s leading architecture business event is back. ARCHIDEX 2026 will run from 29 July to 1 August 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, and this edition is shaping up to be its most ambitious yet.
Jointly organised by Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) and C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd, ARCHIDEX has been running since 2000 and has grown well beyond its origins as a trade exhibition. This year’s theme — “The Bold Future” — signals the event’s continued evolution into what the organisers describe as a fully integrated confex platform, bringing together exhibition, conferences, policy dialogue, and industry programming under one roof.
A bigger show, bigger numbers
For the first time, ARCHIDEX consolidates fully at MITEC, and the move comes with a significant expansion. The exhibition floor grows by 20% to cover 39,000 square metres, hosting close to 900 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions. Around 40,000 trade visitors from over 100 countries are expected to attend, and the event is projected to generate up to RM1.4 billion in business transactions — a figure that reflects ARCHIDEX’s standing not just as an industry gathering, but as a serious commercial platform for the region.
Policy meets industry
One of the defining features of ARCHIDEX 2026 is the ASEAN Real Estate Conference (AREC), developed in strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT). AREC is designed to close the gap between government policy and on-the-ground industry execution, bringing together developers, architects, solution providers, and policymakers to align urban development priorities with investment and implementation realities.
Minister of Housing and Local Government YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming, who launched the ARCHIDEX preview, described the event as “a global nexus where policymakers and industry leaders meet to exchange the transformative ideas necessary to address global challenges — and, more importantly, make them implementable at the local level.”
Conferences at the core
The knowledge programme is anchored by DATUM, PAM’s flagship architectural conference and the largest of its kind in the region. DATUM brings together leading practitioners and thinkers to examine how architecture is responding to urban, environmental, and societal shifts.
PAM President Ar. IDr Dexter Koh Yew Peng positioned ARCHIDEX within the broader Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival (KLAF) ecosystem: “ARCHIDEX represents more than a marketplace. It is a meeting point where architecture is discussed, questioned, and reimagined. Over the years, DATUM has evolved into a celebration in its own right — of the belief that architecture can drive positive change and inspire the next generation to design with purpose and responsibility.”
Rounding out the conference programme are the Asia Space Design Summit, which examines spatial intelligence across key sectors, and the Asia Workplace Design Conference, focused on how the relationship between work, organisation, and physical space is being rethought across the region.
What’s on the floor
ARCHIDEX 2026 will organise its exhibition across thematic segments. World of Works (WoW) explores adaptive, human-centred workplace design. A Hospitality Anthology (aha) is a new feature this year, looking at the transformation of hospitality design and experience. FENESTEX covers window, door, glass, and façade technologies. Digital @ ARCHIDEX, featuring smarteX, spotlights BIM, AI, smart building systems, and data-driven construction.
Beyond the exhibition itself, the programme includes Biz Talks and Focus Forums, curated Buyer Programmes and business matching, the ARCHIDEX Star Awards for product innovation, and ARCHITALENT, which supports emerging design talent.
Getting there and beyond
To ease access, ARCHIDEX 2026 will run dedicated shuttle services from KL Sentral and Sunway Putra Mall. The event also extends into the city through Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week (KLAW), which activates public spaces with architecture, heritage programming, and installations — feeding into Malaysia’s broader Visit Malaysia 2026 agenda.
