NREA 2026 marks record year for real estate agency professionals

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) celebrated the achievements of Malaysia’s leading estate agency professionals at the 18th National Real Estate Awards (NREA) 2026, held at One World Hotel, under the theme Legacy of Excellence. The theme paid tribute to the pioneers, visionaries and leaders in the estate agency who have shaped Malaysia’s estate agency profession over the years while reflecting MIEA’s commitment to preserving professionalism, ethics and service excellence for future generations of practitioners.
The event was graced by Finance Deputy Minister Liew Chin Tong, who joined industry leaders, practitioners and stakeholders in celebrating excellence within Malaysia’s estate agency profession.
This year’s awards attracted 117 submissions across 23 award categories, reflecting the industry’s continued commitment to excellence and the growing importance of professional recognition in raising industry standards.
A defining highlight was the overwhelming response to the MIEA Million Dollar Achievers (MMDA) category which recorded its highest number of submissions to date even though MIEA has introduced two separate MMDA categories this year. There were 34 recipients recognised for achieving professional fees between RM1mil and RM2.999mil while there were seven recipients recognised for fees exceeding RM3mil. Collectively, this year’s MMDA submissions represented approximately RM78mil in professional fees, a significant increase from approximately RM43.9mil recorded in 2025.

“Having spent more than two decades in the estate agency profession, I have witnessed firsthand how our industry has continued to evolve while remaining anchored by the values of professionalism, integrity and trust,” said MIEA president Kelvin Yip.
“This year’s National Real Estate Awards reflect that journey. The strong response we received, together with the record participation in the MIEA Million Dollar Achievers category, demonstrates our profession’s continued commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. We hope the achievements recognised at this event will inspire more practitioners to uphold these values and continue raising the standards of Malaysia’s estate agency profession,” he said.
MIEA vice president Ethan Leong, who is the organising chairman, said the credibility and prestige of the National Real Estate Awards were built upon a rigorous evaluation process that ensured every submission was assessed fairly, consistently and transparently.
“Over five months, every submission underwent comprehensive audit, independent judging and careful deliberation. The Legacy of Excellence we celebrated tonight is not defined solely by our winners’ achievements but by the collective commitment of practitioners across the industry to continuously improve, embrace innovation and uphold the highest standards of professional practice,” said Leong.
The event also featured the presentation of the prestigious Real Estate Agent of the Year Award, honouring an individual recognised as a proven role model of the estate agency profession – not only within his own firm but also within the circle of the association and in the eyes of his peers in the profession.
Representing registered estate agents and Real Estate Negotiators (RENs) on all issues of professional practice, MIEA continues to champion professionalism, ethical practices and continuous professional development while advancing a trusted, progressive and future-ready estate agency profession.
The strong participation in NREA 2026 reflects the profession’s continued pursuit of excellence and reinforces the importance of professionalism, integrity and consumer trust in shaping the future of Malaysia’s estate agency industry. For more information on MIEA, visit https://www.miea.my/
