IOI Properties sells Banting industrial land to Bridge Data Centres for RM741m

IOI Properties Group Bhd has entered into an agreement to sell three plots of land measuring 136.03 acres at its IOI Industrial Park @ Banting for RM740.68 million, marking another major data centre–related transaction for the group.
The sale and purchase agreement was executed on Jan 29, 2026 between Fortune Growers Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of IOI Properties, and Bridge Data Centres Malaysia VII Sdn Bhd.
“We are pleased to announce that Bridge Data Centres (BDC) has acquired 136.03 acres to further expand their data centre business model, and this shows the confidence of our clientele towards IOIPG’s industrial parks,” said its group CEO Datuk Lee Yeow Seng (picture).

Lee highlighted the strategic appeal of IOI Industrial Park @ Banting, citing its connectivity to major highways, Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Port Klang, as well as its ready infrastructure.
He also said the group’s push into industrial parks is aligned with the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 and supported by agencies such as the Malaysian Investment Development Authority and Invest Selangor.
The IOI Industrial Park Series, launched in September 2024, comprises three locations: Banting, Melaka and Iskandar Malaysia.
The 250-acre IOI Industrial Park @ Melaka is currently seeking regulatory approvals, while the 1,100-acre IOI Industrial Park @ Iskandar Malaysia, located within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, may expand further amid rising demand.
Looking ahead, IOI Properties said the logistics and warehousing sector continues to see strong growth, supported by Malaysia’s position along the Straits of Malacca and its established sea and air port infrastructure.
Citing research by Mordor Intelligence, the group noted that Malaysia’s freight and logistics market is expected to reach US$38.28 billion by 2030, potentially driving higher demand for logistics warehouse space.
“In the pipeline, the Group is considering a 500,000 sq feet logistic warehousing facility to be built in IOI Industrial Park @ Banting and a similar one in IOI Industrial Park @ Iskandar Malaysia. The facilities may be leased long-term with selected logistic partners. This is part of our strategic expansion to strengthen the recurring income portfolio of our Property Investment segment in the next few years,” Lee said. — TMR
