Econpile secures RM73m Tung Shin Hospital contract
PETALING JAYA (Nov 2): Econpile Holdings Bhd has secured a RM73 million contract for piling and substructure works for a proposed new Hospital Tung Shin building on Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpur.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Monday (Nov 2), the group said its wholly-owned subsidiary Econpile (M) Sdn Bhd received the letter of award on Oct 30 from SA Architects Sdn Bhd, acting on behalf of Hospital Tung Shin. The letter was dated Oct 29.
The contract covers earth-retaining structures, piling and pile cap works, and the lowest basement slab. The works are to be completed within 21 months from Nov 1, 2026.
The wider development involves the proposed demolition of existing structures and construction of a new hospital building on Lots 220, 221 and 327 at No. 102, Jalan Pudu, Mukim Kuala Lumpur.
The building will comprise two basement levels, three lower-ground levels of hospital facilities, five car park levels, six upper levels of hospital facilities, two office levels and one rooftop mechanical level.
Econpile said the contract is expected to contribute positively to its revenue and earnings from the financial year ending June 30, 2027 onwards.
The group said it foresaw no significant risks other than operational risks associated with the project during the contract period. Management would put control measures and operational procedures in place to reduce their likelihood or impact.
It added that none of its directors, major shareholders or persons connected to them has any direct or indirect interest in the project.
