Signature opens Kayu Ara flagship; captures 50% premium high-rise market share for home-living products

PETALING JAYA (Oct 23): Signature International Bhd, the country’s largest kitchen cabinet manufacturer and home living solutions provider, says it now has nearly half of the market share supplying to premium high-rise developments in the Klang Valley, as the group celebrates its 32nd anniversary with the opening of its flagship showroom at the Damansara Furnishing Centre in Kayu Ara today.

Known for its kitchen solutions and business-to-business (B2B) project business across Southeast Asia, the group is expanding its offerings into a broader range of home-living and renovation solutions.

Group CEO Lau Kock Sang said Signature had supplied products to several high-end high-rise developments, including The Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons.

“We work with major developers in Malaysia, and I would say we have close to 50% market share in the high-rise market, particularly in the premium segment.

“In Kuala Lumpur, many high-rise developments are fitted with Signature products,” he told EdgeProp after the opening ceremony.

He added that Dawn KLCC, a high-rise freehold residential development by Chin Hin Group Property in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, would also feature Signature kitchen products.

Lau added that the CloutHaus Residences in KLCC will also be fitted with Signature products, targeting the high-end, premium segment.

Other Signature projects include developments by Sunway, UEM Sunrise and Sime Darby Property, among others.

“We are involved in many projects by these developers. Almost every Sime Darby Property project, for example, is fitted with Signature products,” Lau said.

The opening coincides with the group’s 32nd anniversary and the introduction of its “Kitchen & Beyond” concept, which brings together cabinetry, renovation services, wall panelling, smart-home technology and furnishings under one roof.

Lau said the initiative builds on the group’s established kitchen business while offering homeowners a more integrated approach to home transformation.

“From the beginning, our focus has been on creating premium kitchens defined by thoughtful design, quality, functionality and craftsmanship. Building on that heritage and our customers’ trust, our ‘Kitchen & Beyond’ vision will see us continue to develop our kitchen offering while extending our expertise across the home,” he said at the opening.

Actress Diana Danielle, who serves as ambassador for Signature’s 48-Hour Trade-In Programme, speaking at the launch today.

The flagship showroom brings together Signature’s cabinetry collections and renovation services under Signature Reno Works, wall panelling by AGMO by Signature, smart-home solutions from Smartverse and soft furnishings by Baagus.

As to why Signature went with Kayu Ara, an area previously occupied by former personnel or associated families of the General Operations Force (PGA),for its flagship store, Lau said that it is centrally located.

“We have been surveying the entire former PGA area because it is quite centrally located. The highway here is extremely busy, with heavy traffic throughout the day, especially during the morning and evening rush hours.

“We have visited many places, and we can see that this area is very central. This presents an opportunity for us to transform the entire building into a signature new space. It has an amazing vantage point, which makes it an ideal location.”

On its flagship store opening today, Signature also introduced its “Kitchen & Beyond” concept, which brings together cabinetry, renovation services, wall panelling, smart-home technology and furnishings under one roof.

Lau said the initiative builds on the group’s established kitchen business while offering homeowners a more integrated approach to home transformation, and the integrated approach aims to simplify the renovation process by reducing the need to coordinate multiple suppliers, contractors and specialists independently.

“Our objective is to reduce that complexity and give customers greater confidence, better design continuity and clearer accountability throughout the process,” he said.

Signature Reno Works offers services covering mechanical and electrical works, wet works, interior finishing and project supervision. The business also provides a two-year warranty on renovation works.

The showroom features fully styled living settings on the ground floor, with product displays, material exploration areas and consultation facilities upstairs. Other facilities include a Signature Concept Gallery, Product Experience Zone, multipurpose Inspiration Hall and dedicated meeting rooms for consultations with design and renovation specialists.

The opening also marks the debut of Quiet Form, Signature’s latest kitchen series under its Contemporary concept. The collection emphasises understated design through material quality, proportion, lighting and integrated detailing.

Its features include satin glass, supermatt surfaces, timber-look finishes, integrated lighting and concealed functions. Architectural wall integration is designed to connect the kitchen with adjoining living spaces.

The series is available in three palettes — Day, Night and Twilight — offering lighter, darker and mixed finishes. Signature plans to introduce Quiet Form progressively at its other showrooms.

Founded in 1994, Signature has expanded from kitchen design and manufacturing into retail, project supply and installation, renovation, smart-home integration and interior fit-out. The group has 50 showrooms nationwide and a presence in 15 countries, according to its corporate profile.

To mark its anniversary, the group is running a nationwide promotional campaign from today to Nov 29 at participating showrooms.

Under the campaign, customers who spend RM10,000 on qualifying customised built-in cabinetry can receive an additional RM3,000 in anniversary rewards, redeemable towards other eligible cabinetry purchases. Total rewards are capped at RM15,000.

Eligible customers can also purchase selected home appliances, including washing machines and refrigerators, for RM32 each under a purchase-with-purchase promotion, subject to qualifying deposits, purchase requirements and the campaign’s terms and conditions.

“Our journey has been shaped by generations of homeowners who have placed their trust in Signature. This anniversary is an opportunity to thank our customers, business partners and people while making it more rewarding for Malaysians to create the homes they envision,” Lau said.

The opening also highlights the group’s collaboration with actress Diana Danielle, who serves as ambassador for its 48-Hour Trade-In Programme. Through the initiative, Signature shares home-transformation stories with consumers.
