At the groundbreaking ceremony were Sheena, Yap, Loy, Gim, Wong and Teng.

SUBANG JAYA: Gamuda Land and Taylor’s Assets have marked the groundbreaking of Haus on 15, a new mixed-use development that will transform the former Taylor’s College Subang Jaya campus into a vibrant destination for residential living, student living and community lifestyle.

Speaking at the event, Gamuda Land chief executive officer Gim Teck Yew said the redevelopment reflects a commitment to long-term placemaking and community continuity. “This is a site with deep meaning and memories for many. As we begin this transformation, our focus is to honour its legacy while responding to the evolving needs of today’s students and urban communities. SS15 and Subang Jaya have always been shaped by education, connectivity and vibrancy and this development continues that story in a meaningful way.”

Taylor’s Education Group executive chairman Datuk Loy Teik Ngan concurred: “Taylor’s College Subang Jaya has shaped generations of students and remains an important part of our legacy. By reimagining this historic site as a vibrant student living community, we are creating an environment that enriches the educational experience. In doing so, we are strengthening the region’s position as a preferred destination for students from around the world.”

Located in one of Malaysia’s most established education-led urban eEcosystems, the development sits within SS15, Subang Jaya, a mature township widely recognised as part of the broader Subang Jaya–Sunway education corridor, one of the highest concentrations of tertiary institutions in Malaysia. Within a 5km radius, the area is anchored by major institutions including Taylor’s University, Monash University Malaysia, Sunway University, Inti International College and SEGi College Subang Jaya, collectively forming a student population base widely estimated at over 100,000 students across the wider Sunway–Subang catchment. This dense ecosystem has positioned Subang Jaya as a consistently high-demand rental and student accommodation market, supported by both local and international student inflows.

With an estimated gross development value of RM540mil, Haus on 15 reflects a shared vision to create a future-ready urban destination that supports the evolving needs of the Subang Jaya–Sunway education ecosystem while contributing to the continued growth and vibrancy of the surrounding community, said Gamuda Land chief operation officer Wong Siew Lee.

The development will feature purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) managed by Taylor’s Hostel Management, Malaysia’s internationally multi-award-winning PBSA operator. Through professionally managed operations, dedicated wellbeing programmes, vibrant community living and world-class residential services, it delivers a safe, supportive and enriching student living experience that enhances academic success, personal growth and overall wellbeing.

The Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) responds to the growing demand for quality student housing, driven by increasing student mobility and rising expectations from students and parents for safety, security and a holistic living environment that supports both learning and wellbeing. As part of an integrated mixed-use development, the PBSA complements the residential and retail components to create a vibrant live–learn–connect community, offering students access to quality accommodation, lifestyle amenities and an engaging community that enriches the overall student experience.

The development benefits from direct access to the SS15 LRT station (Kelana Jaya Line), connectivity to major highways including the Federal Highway, New Pantai Expressway (NPE), Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) and immediate adjacency to retail and lifestyle hubs such as Subang Parade, Empire Subang and Sunway Pyramid.

Also present at the groundbreaking were Gamuda Land chief operation officer Jess Teng and Taylor’s Assets president Sheena @ Angelina and Taylor’s Residence senior vice president Yap Elaine.
