Gamuda Land unveils first ASAI hotel in Gamuda Cove
KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 30): Gamuda Land unveiled on Thursday, its first hotel project, ASAI Gamuda Cove. The hotel is part of the 1,530-acre Gamuda Cove township development in Selangor and will be managed by Dusit Hotels and Resorts, the hotel arm of Thailand-based hotel and property development company Dusit International.
Comprising 280 rooms across 13 storeys with room sizes ranging from 220 sq ft (square feet) to 650 sq ft, ASAI Gamuda Cove has a total built-up area of 180,000 sq ft and it is slated to open in 1Q2026. Some of the hotel facilities are an infinity pool, poolside bar, gym, large dining venues and event spaces.
Speaking at the signing ceremony of the hotel management agreement between the two parties, Dusit International chief operating officer (COO) Gilles Cretallaz said that ASAI Hotels is the group’s locally focused lifestyle brand, while ASAI Gamuda Cove will be the first ASAI hotel in Malaysia.
“To be entrusted with the management of the first hotel within the dynamic Gamuda Cove development, truly is an honour, and we are delighted to partner with Gamuda Land to help bring their vision for their first ever hotel project to life,” he said.
He also highlighted that the hotel is adjacent to the 90-acre Wetlands Arboretum and the 1,111-acre Payah Indah Discovery Wetlands. “We look forward to delivering a unique and unforgettable hotel experience that immerses guests in the diverse cultural tapestry of Malaysia and the natural beauty of the wetlands.”
Meanwhile, Gamuda Land chief commercial officer Eusoffe Chua said that ASAI Gamuda Cove is set to cater to both domestic and international tourists who will visit Gamuda Cove’s host of eco-tourism activities, such as SplashMania Waterpark and Discovery Park — attracting a targeted one million visitors annually.
Envisioned to be a “Nature Sanctuary, Smart City” which has been recognised as Malaysia’s first 5-Diamond Low Carbon City for its master plan design, Gamuda Cove comprises more than 200 acres of parks and greenery within residential and commercial developments, as well as amenities such as schools, universities, medical centres and offices, with convenient access to Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and Kuala Lumpur. The township is a 20 minutes’ drive away from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and a 40 minutes’ drive away from Kuala Lumpur city centre.
Dusit’s property portfolio currently spans 19 countries and comprises 56 hotels operating under Dusit Hotels and Resorts, and approximately 240 luxury villas under Elite Havens. More than 60 Dusit Hotels and Resorts are in the pipeline worldwide.
